For the 8th year running, the London district of Clerkenwell invited one and all from the architect and design community to sample the very latest and best on offer from the world of furniture & interior design.

Clerkenwell Design Week 2017 saw over 90 brands open their doors, and for three days of glorious sunshine, we hosted an array of events, talks and installations at our showroom, showcasing some of our latest products but also exploring the trends and themes driving our industry forward.

The 'WELL Building Standard' & designing for health & wellbeing

On Thursday May 25th, Simon Wyatt, Health and Wellbeing Director at Cundall, will be joining us in our showroom for a special talk as part of Clerkenwell Design Week. A pioneer in workplace wellbeing, Simon will outline Cundall’s experience of delivering the first project in Europe to achieve WELL Certification, as well as a number of other case studies where health and wellbeing has been at the centre of the design.

Ahead of his appearance, Simon gives us insight into the current state of wellbeing in the workplace, and a brief introduction to what the WELL Certification means for the future of office environments.

Exciting developments in sustainability are changing the way we deal with waste

One of the biggest problems facing us as a species is working out how to better manage our resources. The 8th of August marked the 2016 Earth Overshoot Day; the date we as a species began to use more from nature than our planet can renew in the whole year, and every year this date gets pushed further back. At the turn of the millennium the date was November 1st, and in 1987, the first year it was observed – December 19th.  If we continue at the same speed and direction – we will in 2040 use 10 times the resources our planet can sustainably deliver.
